Red Lake Powwow

Our Pow Wow will be Friday, June 7th and Saturday, June 8th

About Red Lake

Red Lake is located in at the end of Highway 105, along the beautiful shores of WanamaniSaa’ikaniink (Red Lake). The Red Lake Anishinaape Pow Wow Circle acknowledges this Land and these Waters around WanamaniSaa’ikaniink where Anishinaapek have lived since time before memory.  The Circle understands this area to be a part of un-ceded Treaty #3 territory and the traditional lands of All Our Relations whose ancestors have also lived here for millennia.

The Red Lake Pow Wow is hosted on Keesic Beach, where the Anishinaape have gathered since time immemorial. These grounds are considered sacred.

To get to Red Lake from Winnipeg, you will take the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1 in Manitoba and Highway 17 in Ontario) and go east for about 305 km until you reach Vermilion Bay.
